Submit an Article to Marketing Insights!

What's new in your world of marketing and marketing education?

In order to make the next issue of Marketing Insights as interesting and informative as possible we need your insights and contributions. The next issue is scheduled for publication in September of 2008, and we hope to fill it with inspiring articles on a variety of topics. To meet our deadline we will need your input by July 11th, 2008.

By writing a short article or abstract only 250-500 words long you could add a great deal to our next issue. We are seeking contributions on a variety of topics including:

What's New with the MMA? Is there anything you'd like to say regarding the successful Spring Conference? Are you looking for some help with an upcoming conference? Would you like to introduce a new member, or even suggest a change in the way that our organization is run? In any case, our newsletter is a great way to get the word out and to get input pack from your fellow MMA members.

What's New in Your Classroom? Have you tried any new, innovative teaching techniques? Are you team-teaching a class? Have you taught a class overseas? A brief description of your recent pedagogical practices might be just what one of your peers could use in one of his/her own classes.

What's New in Your Library? Have you read any good books lately? Perhaps you've attended a seminar that was enlightening and you took home some interesting reading. Or, have you used a new software program that you particularly liked? In any case, a relatively short review of what you've read could be just what a peer needs to bring his/her next lecture up-to-speed.

What's New at Your University? Do you have any faculty or administrative openings that might be of interest to your peers? Have you hired any new faculty members or administrators? Are you starting up a new program or class? Is your college or department working closely with another school, or company, towards the development of credit or professional training programs? By sharing with fellow MMA members information regarding your institution, you can provide them with ideas they can try in their own institutions.

What's New in the Marketing Arena? Have you heard of, or seen, any exciting new marketing technology? Have you read about any "out of the box" strategic plan that dramatically changed a firm's fortunes? Are there any new products out there that you think will be particularly successful. Through your reading and/or consulting you may have come across some new marketing initiatives that fit right in with a course or lesson that one of your peers is working on.

What's New with you Personally? Have you published any interesting articles lately? Have you received any research grants or done any interesting consulting projects? Perhaps you've been promoted or you've moved to another university? In any case, we know from the last conference that the MMA is a close-knit community of professionals and letting the organization know what is new in your life is always a welcomed addition to a newsletter such as ours.

Please send your short article as an MS Word attachment to Raj Devasagayam ( raj@siena.edu ) at Siena College, NY and Carrie Trimble ( ctrimble@iwu.edu )at Illinois Wesleyan University, IL.
